GuestLogix Point-of-Sale handheld device with PIN Pad receives UK Cards Association Common Criteria accreditation

TORONTO, ONTDecember 8, 2009 – GuestLogix, Inc. (TSX-V: GXI), the leading provider of onboard retail solutions to the passenger travel industry, today announced that its new PCI compliant XPDA-V Point-of-Sale (POS) handheld device with PIN Pad has received UK Cards Association (formerly known as APACS) Common Criteria 2.3 EAL 4 accreditation for use in the UK and elsewhere. The new GuestLogix POS device is currently being used by two of the largest airlines in the region, Ryanair (NASDAQ:RYAAY) and British Airways (LONDON: BAY.L), and is now being deployed by one of the world’s largest ski tour operators, TUI Ski.

GuestLogix’ new onboard POS handheld with the latest accreditation provides operators with greatly improved security over existing mobile POS devices to reduce credit card fraud and drive lower card processing costs. Carriers can also enhance customer service by providing more convenient and quick payment options to their passengers while generating new profitable revenues – never before possible – by being able to accept higher value credit and debit card transactions.

“We are very excited to receive this accreditation as it further reinforces our position as a leading supplier of secure mobile payments solutions for the passenger travel sector,” said Tom Douramakos, President and CEO at GuestLogix. “Our new POS device meets the payment industry’s most stringent security standards to assure safe shopping for passengers, reliability and optimized cost of usage for our customers.”

The UK Cards Association was formed in April 2009 as the successor body to the APACS Card payments Group. The Association promotes co-operation between industry participants in order to progress non-competitive matters of mutual interest. They work to inform and engage with stakeholders to advance the industry for the ultimate benefit of its members' consumer and retail customers. Common Criteria is an international IT products and systems security evaluation criterion following ISO/IEC 15408. GuestLogix’ accreditation was augmented by AVA_VLA.3, an independent vulnerability analysis to evaluate resistance to penetration attacks, which GuestLogix passed.

In addition to achieving UK Cards Associations accreditation, the GuestLogix XPDA-V has received PCI PED 2.0 approval, EMV Level 1 and Level 2 certifications. The device features a rugged ergonomic design with large touch screen interface, printer, MSR, barcode scanner, IC card reader, and full chip and PIN credit and debit card processing independent of the POS application which is PCI-DSS compliant. Wireless payments can be done via Tri-band GSM/GPRS and WLAN 802.11 b/g networks.

Douramakos added, “We’re positioned as the preferred choice for secure onboard credit and debit card processing. Any solution not compliant with these latest standards is essentially exposing carriers and their customers to unnecessary risk.”
