GuestLogix announces 2009 POSie Award winners for onboard retail innovation and excellence

September 24, 2009TORONTO, ONT – GuestLogix Inc., (TSX-V: GXI), the world’s leading provider of onboard retail solutions to the airline industry, today announced the recipients of the 2009 POSie Awards at the closing session of its first annual GuestLogix User Group Conference in Toronto. The award was established by GuestLogix’ Board of Directors and industry partners to recognize outstanding leadership in the deployment of onboard retail solutions and enhancing passenger experience.

Board member and former American Airlines executive, Ralph Richardi, was on hand with Mr. Douramakos, Chairman, to announce this year’s inaugural awards. The 2009 POSie Award winners were:

  1. American Airlines: First Fleet-Wide Onboard Retail Solution Deployment. Recognized for being the first global airline to establish retail services onboard.
  2. Spirit Airlines: First Complete Cashless Onboard Retail Solution Deployment. Recognized for being the first carrier to adopt credit card only retail services onboard.

While many airline industry associations provide awards, the POSie Award is the first and only one dedicated to onboard retail innovation. Peer reviewed, this award will be bestowed annually at the GuestLogix User Group Conference to companies and individuals in the passenger travel industry.
