
GuestLogix Appoints Media Veteran Mark K. Updegrove to Board of Directors
- Announces Management Changes to Accelerate Product/Service Channel Business
TORONTO, ON — February 19, 2008 — Tom Douramakos, Chairman and CEO of GuestLogix Inc. (TSX-V:GXI), today announced Board of Director and management team changes to promote the growth of its emerging product/service channel business serving airline, rail and ferry operators. Today, GuestLogix serves more than 600 million passenger trips annually with its Mobile Virtual Store™ which allows airlines to be profitable on-board retailers. The Company's product and service channel complements its retail platform with unique offerings and merchandising programs.
Mark K. Updegrove was appointed to the Board of Directors to bring extensive media advertising and content distribution experience to the Company. Updegrove is director of national sales for Sympatico/MSN, Canada's largest internet portal, based in Toronto. He joined Sympatico/MSN in 2007 after spending just under two years as VP, head of sales at Yahoo! Canada. Prior to joining the online world, Updegrove spent the bulk of his career in print media, including stints as an account representative and Los Angeles manager of Time magazine; president of Time Canada in Toronto; publisher of Newsweek in New York; and publisher of Nickelodeon and MTV magazines, also in New York. He began his career in marketing at Book of the Month Club. A native of Philadelphia, Updegrove graduated with a B.A. in economics at the University of Maryland.

In other management changes, Brett Proud, co-founder and VP Development and Delivery at GuestLogix, was also re-appointed to the Board and promoted to EVP On-board Retail Development to spearhead strategy with an internal team focused on product and service partnership development. The team includes Jim FitzGerald, VP Global Partnerships, who joined GuestLogix from American Airlines where he was the IT Managing Director responsible for the implementation of that company's on-board sales system.
Lewis Baios has joined the firm as VP Delivery to fill the position vacated by Proud. Baios brings over 20 years of technology experience which includes management of large scale, multi-functional, and multiple stakeholder projects.
