A Sneak Peek: The New Onboard Experience

After a successful pre-launch event showcasing OnTouch™, GuestLogix’ new retail and merchandising solution, a brand new in-flight experience is about to take to the sky in June. At Airline Information’s Miami Airline Sales Channel Forum and a-la-Carte Pricing Conference on May 12th, GuestLogix privately unveiled OnTouch™ to some of the industry’s most prominent airlines along with several major industry players to great ovation.

OnTouch™ brings numerous product and service providers outside of the airline industry together with GuestLogix’ airline partners for a brand new experience, both for the passenger and the airline itself. Focusing on providing a total, end-to-end travel experience, meeting each passenger’s unique requests, and bringing high margin profits to each airline customer without increasing overhead, coordination or weight in the air, OnTouch™ is set to ‘evolutionize’ the way passengers take advantage of their gate-to-gate experience. After several years in development, the new service will officially be deployed by one of the world’s most recognized air carriers next month.

This new experience brings 5 new services to the sky:

  1. OnTouch™ Box Office — In-flight offerings of theatre, concert and theme park tickets transacted in the air
  2. OnTouch™ Ground Connections — In-flight offerings of airport transfers via taxi, bus, train, limo and more for destination city
  3. OnTouch™ Shopping & More — In-flight catalogue sales in a variety of categories with real-time transaction capabilities
  4. OnTouch™ Minutes on the Go — In-flight offerings of prepaid phone cards and phone rentals
  5. OnTouch™ Concierge — New capability to give additional travel updates and deals over SMS and email

Flying into New York City and selling Broadway tickets to your passengers is going to become commonplace. Prepaying for your high-speed train transfer from the airport while on the plane will soon be expected by passengers. And airlines being able to collect revenues on catalogue sales with no added efforts or cost will soon have a lasting impact on the profitability of the airline industry. Passes for Heathrow Express, the “fastest and most fashionable” way to get from London Heathrow Airport into downtown London, England will be officially sold on one carrier through OnTouch™ Ground Connections this month and is in initial roll out phase for several of the top 10 carriers flying into London by the end of the year.
