Since being first announced in July 2008, In-Flight Box Office™ has received hundreds of ticket partnering inquiries from aggregators and individual producers. This month our service comes alive with an online presence that defines a whole new ancillary revenue product category for airlines: tickets to theatrical productions, live concerts, city attractions, dinners and movies, destination transfers, and much more.
In-Flight Box Office™ aims to be the ultimate in ticketing convenience and destination-based entertainment. Based on ticket type and industry averages for tickets per purchase, airlines can realize more than US $25 per onboard purchase. This figure takes into account a commission split with the flight attendant. Our latest research of worldwide air travelers performed by Cossette suggests that 50 per cent of the passengers would be interested in buying tickets if presented with a suitable offer during flight. We'll disclose more of our research in future editions of this newsletter.
Our online efforts with In-Flight Box Office™ will evolve rapidly to allow airline passengers to use their previous purchases with airlines to access unique ticket offers on the web while providing additional revenues for carriers. You can visit the In-Flight Box Office™ website here.
